Recently, a voice clip allegedly featuring Anantapur MLA Daggubati Prasad went viral, in which he appeared to criticize Jr. NTR following the release of the movie War 2. The clip sparked outrage among NTR fans, with some even reportedly visiting his residence to protest. The controversy resurfaced on social media after a post on a Twitter account in his name appeared supporting the movie OG and seemingly criticizing NTR while praising Pawan Kalyan. The tweet read, “Sir, Pawan Kalyan has unmatched craze—thousands called for tickets already! But some people claim they are from our TDP party and sell tickets in his name.”
However, it has now been clarified that the account is fake and not affiliated with MLA Daggubati Prasad. His official team stated that someone created the fake account to stir controversy, and they urged people not to believe posts from it. The MLA’s team is also planning to approach cybercrime authorities to take action against the impersonators.
Earlier, during the release of War, a similar audio clip surfaced, where someone appeared to be criticizing Jr. NTR. Fans assumed it was Daggubati Prasad, but the MLA denied the allegations, calling it a targeted conspiracy against him and even filing a complaint with the police.
This incident highlights a growing trend in the Telugu film industry: fan wars between hero followings. When a major movie releases, fans of rival stars often target other films or actors with negativity. While it generates online buzz, such conflicts are detrimental to actors, producers, and the industry as a whole. Whether this fan rivalry culture will change remains to be seen.
