Film/Documentary/Ad Shootings have been a major source of non-fare income for the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). Since the clearance was offered for shooting in 2013, A revenue of Rs 24.8 lakh has been earned by Bengaluru Metro because of the various shootings.
Indians need to apply 15 days in advance for obtaining necessary clearances from BMRCL for the shoots. Foreigners will have to move the application 30 days in advance. Conditions include Refundable Bank Guarantee of Rs 5 lakh and Rs 2.5 crore insurance cover to Metro Property.
A Fee of Rs 50,000 per hour will be charged for shooting in the Metro Station. For hiring a Train, Rs 20,000 per hour has to be paid. A concession of 25 percent is being offered for Kannada Films.
Many Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam Films have been shot in the Bengaluru Metro so far. Why don’t Hyderabad Metro learn something from it to increase the revenue?
