A police complaint has been lodged against film producer Dil Raju aka Venkataramana Reddy on Saturday in Madhapur police station. Following complaint from one novelist Shyamala Rani and Magistrate orders, Madhapur police have booked the case. The case is booked under section IPC 120A, 415, 420 of the Copyright Act 63. Producer Dil Raju, director Dasaradh have been named in the case.
Going into details, Shyamala’s allegation is that Dil Raju’s production Mr Perfect (2011) is copied from her novel ‘Na Manasu Korindi Ninne’. She alleged that the film’s theme and several scenes are ‘copied’ from the novel.Madhapur DCP Viswa Prasad said they would look into the matter. They said that they would read the novel and watch the movie and then come to conclusion. Meanwhile, he said that they would also call Dil Raju for inquiry in the issue.
The film starring Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal and Taapsee in the lead roles turned out to be successful in 2011. The film’s story was provided by Bobby aka KS Ravindra who turned into a director now. What is surprising is six years after the film’s release, the novelist has come forward to file the complaint.
Producer Dil Raju, director Dasaradh are yet to respond on the issue.
