Former Kiwi player Chris Cairns declared paralysed due to stroke

Former Kiwis player Chris Cairns who underwent a heart operation recently was declared paralysed by the doctors. His family members confirmed the same in a statement.

According to the doctors, Chris Cairns developed a stroke while he was undergoing surgery. The stroke had led to paralysis in his legs. The former player will take up rehabilitation sessions soon.

In the statement issued by the family members said that the family and the former player had returned to Canberra from Sydney where the surgery was performed.

Chris Cairns’s family members have thanked the doctors for their efforts and they have also thanked the public for not hindering the privacy of the player in this regard.

The former player was accused of being involved in match fixing during the peaks of his career. This resulted in him having a distance with the game. He was regarded as one of the best players at that time.

Chris Cairns had represented New Zealand in 62 Test matches. He recorded the best figures both with the ball and bat back then.
