DK Aruna, the “queen” of Gadwal politics, is now turning out to be major asset to the BJP. This old warhorse of the Congress, who left the party and joined the BJP, is now proving to be a lethal weapon to decimate Congress in Telangana.
Unlike the Congress Party, which always sidelined her, DK Aruna has been given a place of pride in the BJP. She has been made national vice-president of the BJP, which is a huge honour. Secondly, she has been given the responsibility of Karnataka party affairs. Karnataka is the only South Indian state, where the BJP is in power. Earlier, former national general secretary Muralidhar Rao was Karnataka in charge. She is now being used to poach the Congress Party. She is in touch with the Congress leaders from various districts and is luring them into the party.
In a measure of importance that the BjP is giving to DK Aruna, Union Home Minister Amit Shah specifically introduced her to the BJP workers of Karnataka during a public meeting. He asked her to come forward and told the BJP workers that they should seek her guidance in the party work. DK Aruna, for sure is getting more importance as a BJP leader than as a Congress leader.
