Gangubai Kathiawadi is the new biopic from Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his first film with Alia Bhatt in the lead. The director annouced the movie back in 2019 when the rumours about the director wanting to make movies with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have been coming out in the media.
Sanjay annouced a movie with Salman and Alia back in 2019. Salman pulled out from the movie after first schedule and then the director annouced this biopic with Alia in the lead.
Ever since the movie has been annouced the family members of Gangubai Kathiawadi opposed the makers and said that they never took consent from them.
Adopted son of Gangubai, Babu Raoji Shah and her grand daughter Bharti have been voicing their concerns in court and in front of media too.
They said that ever since the movie had been annouced their family has been subject to shameful comments and most of them are targeted at Gangubai being a prostitute.
Raoji Shah said to media that the movie makers are taking the story of Gangubai and twisting it to fit their narrative. He also said that she should be remembered as a person worked for upliftment of women and not a prostitute.
Raoji filed a case in Mumbai High Court against the release of the film and court denied to issue stay. Now, the family members targeted Alia Bhatt and makers for making the film and tampering the history in which ever they please.
Well, the movie is releasing on 25th February Worldwide and Alia Bhatt is extremely excited about the film’s prospects at the box office.
