The privatization of the Visakha Steel Plant has been causing a lot of chaos in Andhra Pradesh, with protests being conducted in Visakhapatnam, by the people and the employees of the plant. The Central Government’s plan to privatise the steel plant is being unanimously rejected by everyone belonging to AP, including CM Jagan, who recently wrote a letter to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
In his letter, Jagan requested the PM to reevaluate the decision taken by the Central Government and to not privatise the steel plant. Reacting to this, TDP member Ganta Srinivasa Rao has now written a letter to the CM, urging him to do more than just sending a letter. Ganta applauded the CM’s efforts to take immediate action and write a letter to the PM, but he also stated that several other actions be taken to make sure that the steel plant is not privatised.
Ganta asked the CM to conduct an urgent cabinet meeting, and to come up with plans to put into effect, in the wake of the privatisation news. He also requested the CM to conduct an all party meeting, where everyone has to come together, keeping aside their political differences, for the good of the Visakha Steel Plant, and for the good of the people working there.
A few days ago, Ganta handed over his resignation letter to AP Assembly Speaker, Thammineni Sitaram, in retaliation to the privatisation of the Visakha Steel Plant, with the condition that his resignation is to be accepted only if the plant is privatised.
