Amid the promotional buzz for Game Changer — and even after the film underperformed at the box office — speculation continued around Ram Charan’s long-anticipated collaboration with director Gautham Tinnanuri.
Many believed that Charan had put aside a potential project with Gautham in order to fully focus on Game Changer. However, recent reports and Gautham’s own clarification tell a different story.
While promoting Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, Gautham Tinnanuri clarified that the script he had narrated to Charan was not Kingdom, addressing a long-standing rumor. He went on to explain what really happened between him and the star.
According to Gautham, Ram Charan had initially liked the story concept. Encouraged, Gautham developed it into a full-fledged script. But once the script took shape, Gautham realized that it may not be the right fit for Charan’s image and potential. Choosing not to compromise on either the actor or the vision of the story, he communicated his decision to Charan — who graciously accepted it.
Despite the project not moving forward, Gautham emphasized that there is mutual respect and a good rapport between him and Charan. He shared that he didn’t want to waste an opportunity by forcing a film that might not suit the actor’s strengths, stating that his goal is to collaborate meaningfully when the right script comes along.
Meanwhile, Ram Charan is currently busy with his next film, Peddi, which has already started creating buzz.
