In a good news to all the IT professionals working around Hi-Tech city, Telangana IT minister KTR has flagged off the Hi-Tech and Raidurg metro stretch on Friday morning. This stretch is just over a kilometre and will go all the way to Mindspace junction.
Along with KTR, Transport minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Hyderabad Metro officials took part in the inaugural ceremony. After flagging off, KTR and others went for a metro ride. Currently as per the Hyderabad Metro authorities stats, around 3.51 lakh people are travelling in metro daily and with the new stretch, around 40,000 passengers are likely to add. Which means Hyderabad Metro will carry 4 lakh people in a day which according to the officials is the second largest after Delhi Metro.
The most important aspect here is Hyderabad Metro has connected the eastern part of Hyderabad to the western part and the travel is made hassle free and quick. Yesterday Hyderabad Metro has successfully completed two years of its operations and since then, the metro has carried 12.5 crore passengers.
