It is known that GHMC election results came out on the 4th of December. But there was an unforeseen delay in Neredmet division, owing to some complications in ballot voting procedure and consequently, counting was put on hold.
Incidentally, TRS candidate, Meena Upender Reddy was leading by 504 votes but there were another 544 ballot papers with other symbols. Following the high court’s orders to count these ballot papers with other symbols, concerned authorities commenced counting earlier today.
TRS candidate Meena Upender Reddy emerged victorious after the final round of counting with a majority of 668 votes. So, TRS added another GHMC division to its final tally.
For the unversed, TRS won a total of 55 divisions, while BJP and MIM won 48 and 44 divisions respectively. Congress ended up winning just 2 divisions.
With the latest victory in Neredmet, TRS’s tally reaches 56.
