The successful collaboration between director Girish AD and actor Naslen is set to continue with their upcoming Malayalam film, “I Am Kathalan.” Initially scheduled for release in August, the film is now slated to hit theaters on November 7.
The announcement was made on October 19 through social media, along with a hint of an upcoming official trailer. “I Am Kathalan” is anticipated to be a family entertainer with intriguing thriller elements, adding depth to its storyline. A previously released poster showcases Naslen staring into a CCTV camera with a backpack, sparking curiosity about his character.
Joining Naslen in the female lead is debutant Anishma Anilkumar. The film boasts a strong supporting cast, including Dileesh Pothan, Lijomol Jose, Vineeth Viswam, TG Ravi, and Vineeth Vasudevan. Sajin Cherukayil has penned the script, while Sidhartha Pradeep has composed the music. Sharan Velayudhan and Akash Joseph Varghese have handled the cinematography and editing, respectively.
Produced by Dr. Paul Varghese, with Krishnamoorthy and Tinu Thomas as co-producers, “I Am Kathalan” marks the reunion of the actor-director duo before they can embark on “Premalu 2.” The film’s release is highly anticipated by fans of the duo’s previous work.
