-Google to Set Up AI & Analytics Hub in Vizag: CM Chandrababu Naidu

In a simple yet powerful announcement, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu revealed one of the most significant investments in the history of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at a public meeting, Babu declared that Google is set to establish an Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Development Unit in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) — a move that could redefine the technological landscape of the state.

Though the exact timeline of the project was not disclosed for strategic reasons, Chandrababu confidently stated that the unit will become operational very soon. He emphasized that this initiative would play a key role in transforming Andhra Pradesh into a “knowledge economy hub” of India.

What makes this announcement even more symbolic is the fact that it was made in front of engineering students — the very youth who stand to benefit the most from such a transformative project. Chandrababu, long known for his vision of a tech-driven and prosperous future for the younger generation, once again underlined his commitment through this announcement.

It’s worth noting that IT Minister Nara Lokesh had visited the United States in the latter part of last year, during which he met with Google representatives. It now appears that this is when the groundwork for the Vizag development center was laid. The Naidu-led government, staying true to its results-oriented style, worked quietly behind the scenes, setting the stage for this major investment — only to unveil it with Babu’s characteristic candor and conviction.
