Governors involving in political issues and giving statements on the political happenings is quite rare. Such incidents can be handpicked. But a Governor is different from others and has a rich history of making such sensational comments and shocking everyone. Not leaving his fierce nature, the respected Governor had breathed fire on the union government on various developments in the country.
Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik who openly gives his opinion on various issues has breathed fire on the Centre on various issues like the farmers’ protests against the controversial farm bills. The Governor used strong words to express his severe dissatisfaction with the ruling union government.
Media reports say that the Governor was not at all impressed with the behavior of the Delhi leadership of the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) and questioned why the leaders won’t care about the farmers who are protesting against the new farm bills.
The Governor reportedly said that the leaders condole the death of a dog but the same leaders are not at all bothered about the farmers who are protesting against the farm bills. More than 600 farmers have lost their lives. But no leader went to send their condolences, he said.
The Governor made these sensational comments while addressing an event that was held for the Jat community. At the event, the Governor said that a few people in the government are positive towards the farmers and want to address their issues, while a few are against this.
The Meghalaya Governor also wondered why the Gujarat-based company Adani group had built a big side godown even before the union government introduced the three bills in Parliament. Minimum support price (MSP) is the main problem here. If the same is addressed the issue would be sorted and till this is not done, the farmers would not return, he ascertained.
The Governor went on to say that he is not worried about his position and he is ready to leave the position for the farmers who are protesting against the farm bills. He also questioned the need for building the Central Vista redevelopment project.
