Tamil music composer-singer GV Prakash Kumar and playback singer Saindhavi have officially divorced after 12 years of marriage. The Chennai Family Court finalized their separation following a mandatory six-month cooling-off period.
As part of the settlement, Saindhavi will have custody of their daughter, Anvi, while both have agreed to co-parent amicably.
The couple’s journey began as childhood friends, blossomed into marriage in 2013, and later into parenthood with the birth of Anvi in 2020. After more than a decade together, they announced their separation on May 13, 2024. Notably, they even shared the stage during GV Prakash’s December 2024 concert, maintaining professionalism and mutual respect before filing for divorce in March 2025.
Fans have appreciated the couple’s dignified and respectful approach to their separation. While their personal paths have diverged, audiences eagerly await their individual musical contributions in the years to come.
