In a significant political development, AP Fibernet Chairman GV Reddy has resigned from his position and also announced his exit from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). His decision comes in the wake of a dispute with IAS officer Dinesh Kumar, whom he accused of non-compliance in the Fibernet department. Despite raising concerns, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu did not take immediate action, prompting Reddy’s abrupt resignation.
This unexpected move has sparked a strong reaction from Chandrababu Naidu, who was informed of the matter shortly after Reddy’s exit. The Andhra Pradesh government has officially accepted Reddy’s resignation. In a subsequent development, IAS officer Dinesh Kumar has been transferred out of the department and directed to report to the General Administration Department (GAD) for further scrutiny. His administrative powers have also been significantly curtailed.
Naidu, known for his balanced approach and preference for bureaucratic stability, initially refrained from taking action against the IAS officer. However, following Reddy’s resignation, he took corrective steps by transferring Dinesh Kumar and placing him under further evaluation. The episode marks a critical shake-up in the AP administration, highlighting internal tensions within the governance structure.
