At Lotus Pond in Hyderabad today, at YS Sharmila‘s residence, a group of people under the name of Andhra Pradesh Parirakshana Samithi protested against Sharmila’s stance on the Krishna river disputes between AP and Telangana.
Sharmila said that she wouldn’t let anyone take away Krishna river water from Telangana – and that she would oppose the construction of the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme and Pothireddypadu expansion on river Krishna. The Andhra Pradesh Parirakshana Samithi called Sharmila out on this issue, saying that Sharmila’s stance is not ethical on the issue, especially since she is a Rayalaseema child.
The activists said that Sharmila would have to face severe consequences if she continues to support Telangana. These activists and Sharmila’s followers then clashed against each other. The police department intervened and brought the situation under control.
