Attaining name and fame with “Gabbar Singh”, a remake of Hindi blockbuster “Dabangg”, director Harish Shankar went to direct other stars but he didn’t recreate the same magic he did with “Gabbar Singh”.
Although “Duvvada Jagannadham” starring Allu Arjun was a commercial success, it didn’t bring him much craze.
After remaking a Tamil movie “Jigarthanda” as “Gaddhalakonda Ganesh”, he is back in the reckoning and grabbed the chance to direct Pawan Kalyan again.
His next film will star Pawan Kalyan. Mythri Movie Makers which is bankrolling the project had announced it officially through social media.
The latest buzz in the industry is that Harish Shankar is now looking for a remake subject to play the safe game.
As he can adapt a successful movie of another language in Telugu, the production house is said to have asked him to look at remaking Tamil movies like Vijay starrer “Theri” and Ajith’s “Vedhalam”.
Mythri Movie Makers earlier had planned to remake “Theri” with Pawan Kalyan in the direction of Santosh Srinivas but it was later dropped off. The film was already dubbed into Telugu and was screened on TV multiple times.
We have to see which remake would Harish chose now to deliver another “Gabbar Singh”.
After Venkatesh, Pawan Kalyan is the other big star who has done maximum remakes in his career right from the days of “Gokulamlo Seetha”. He has also chosen a remake (Pink) for his comeback.
