Harshavardhan Rameshwar, celebrated for his gripping background scores in films like Arjun Reddy and Animal, is stepping into the big league of Telugu cinema. After years of working on smaller projects, the National Award-winning composer is now set to collaborate with two of the industry’s top directors, Puri Jagannadh and Trivikram Srinivas.
On Thursday, the makers of Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming action entertainer, tentatively titled Puri Sethupathi (officially finalized as Slumdog), announced that Harshavardhan is on board. The team praised him, stating: “The blockbuster composer whose music speaks louder than words. Team #PuriSethupathi welcomes National Award-winning music director @rameemusic on board. Get ready for a new-age musical experience that blends action, emotion, and elevation.” The film also stars Samyuktha Menon, Tabu, and Duniya Vijay. The teaser and title launch, originally scheduled earlier, was postponed due to the Karur stampede incident in Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, Harshavardhan has reportedly also joined Trivikram Srinivas’ upcoming film starring Venkatesh, marking the first time Trivikram is directing Venkatesh after previously collaborating with him as a writer. The family entertainer began shooting recently and is slated for a summer 2026 release. Srinidhi Shetty has been confirmed as the female lead, with the second heroine yet to be announced.
Although composer Thaman had earlier mentioned during OG promotions that he would score the film, recent reports suggest Harshavardhan has already begun composing. Whether both composers will collaborate or Harshavardhan will handle the full soundtrack remains to be seen. With two major directors known for their strong musical sensibilities backing him, Harshavardhan Rameshwar appears poised to elevate his career to the next level.
