Has Jagan’s approach to Amaravati changed?

Has YS Jagan changed his approach towards Amaravati? If the latest events and incidents are any indications, yes, he has indeed changed. With elections just two years away, Jagan clearly wants to make amends and win back the alienated people. Sources say his decision to make Adimulapu Suresh the municipal administration minister in place of an aggressive Botsa Satyanarayana is the first step in the direction.

Sources in the know say that Adimulapu Suresh is both soft and firm. He is not like Botsa, who is aggressive. Several of Botsa’s statements on the three-capital issue have become counter-productive for the YSRCP. The party has also wisely decided not to appeal against the High Court, which scrapped the three capitals bill. This is the second indication that the YSRCP is mellowing down on Amaravati.

In another significant development, Jagan has also decided to complete the halted building works in Amaravati. Similarly, there are plans to develop the plots to be given to the farmers, who gave away their lands. At the same time, his ministers or party MLAs have been asked not to comment on the three-capital issue.

He is also said to be focusing on luring investors and industrialists to Andhra Pradesh. In the initial days, there were some issues with units such as Kia and others. But, now, the government is planning to roll out red carpet for the investors. He is also planning to visit Davos next month to lure investors and entrepreneurs to Andhra Pradesh. So, Jagan appears to be making amends and is set to roll back some of his controversial decisions.
