Lyca Productions is one of the big production houses in the Tamil industry and the production house is known for making films on a big scale. Rajinikanth starrer 2.0m which is the sequel of Robot was bankrolled by the banner. There is another aspect that makes the production house stay in the headlines.
Lyca Productions often hits the headlines with issues with directors and stars. Earlier, the production house had issues with director Shankar and moved the court. Lyca Productions also has issues with actor Vishal and it earlier filed a suit in the High Court.
Now Actor-producer Vishal faced a big relief in the lawsuit filed by the production house as the court quashed the petition. The Madras High Court quashed the petition as the production house could not submit the required evidence to prove the allegations. The next hearing in the issue will be on the 26th of this month.
Going into details, the Lyca Productions moved the High Court alleging that Vishal took around ₹21.29 crore from them, but did not return. Saying that the actor-producer is not returning the money, the production house filed a suit. Hearing a petition, the High Court said that the actor cannot release his films in theatres of OTTs unless he deposits ₹15 crores.
Now the production house moved the court alleging that Vishal produced a few ventures without depositing the money which is contempt of court. Vishal’s lawyers told the court that no films were bankrolled by the actor. When the court asked for the evidence, the production house could not present any and hence the petition was quashed.
