Telangana high court on Tuesday once again expressed dissatisfaction over the conduct of very lesser number of tests for Coronavirus in the state.
The high court, which is hearing a batch of petitions, sought to know why Telangana government had been conducting very low number of tests for Covid-19, compared to other states.
“Why are you not conducting tests for persons who died with Covid-19 symptoms? Why are tests not being conducted on high risk patients?” the court asked, while striking down the orders issued by the Telangana government banning conduct of tests on the dead bodies.
The high court directed that the Telangana government submit a report to the court on the number of tests for Coronavirus conducted every day since March 11. It also wanted the government to submit the letters written by the Centre to the state on Corona tests.
The court also asked the state government to provide the details of personal protection equipment (PPE) kits provided to how many doctors and in how many hospitals.
“We need all these details by June 4,” the court ordered the government.
