Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s highly anticipated action drama OG is all set for a grand theatrical release on September 25, with reports indicating a massive opening across nearly 1,000 screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Producer DVV Danayya, who has reportedly invested over ₹220 crore into the project, calls it one of the costliest Telugu films ever made. “I can’t reveal exact numbers, but we are planning a very wide release since this is one of the most anticipated films in Telugu states as well as overseas. OG is made to match Pawan Kalyan’s stature and charisma,” he said.

Directed by Sujeeth, the film is described as a unique gangster action saga set in the 1980s. “Our goal was to deliver a never-before-seen action spectacle. The overwhelming response to the glimpse gave us immense confidence. We built massive sets, shot across multiple locations for an authentic period look, and spared no expense to craft a big-screen experience,” Danayya explained.

The producer, who earlier bankrolled the ₹1,500-crore global blockbuster RRR, is known for mounting large-scale projects. “New-age audiences love grandeur, and that aligns with my vision. Big Telugu star films filled with action, songs, and heroism have taken our cinema to the global stage. It’s time Telugu audiences feel proud as our makers continue breaking language and regional barriers,” he added.

Reflecting on his career, Danayya highlighted his collaborations with top stars like Mahesh Babu (Bharat Ane Nenu), Ram Charan (Vinaya Vidheya Rama), and Allu Arjun (Desamuduru). “Working with superstars gives me a high. Their loyal fan bases make it essential to choose the right script and pair it with the right director. When everything clicks, it creates box-office history. Overall, my journey so far has been wonderful,” he concluded.
