36-year-old actress Hebah Patel, originally from Maharashtra, made her cinematic debut in 2014, spanning Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu industries. While she featured in multiple projects, it was Sukumar’s bold romantic drama Kumari 21F that made her a household name. Her portrayal of the fearless and emotional Meena Kumari won hearts, but a series of setbacks followed, with films like Honeymoon Express and Dhoom Dhaam failing to make an impact.
However, her career took a turn for the better with Odela Railway Station in 2022. Directed by Ashok Teja and penned by Sampath Nandi, the crime thriller, backed by Sri Sathya Sai Arts, provided Hebah with a raw and intense role that showcased her depth as an actress. Both critics and audiences lauded her performance, calling it one of her most mature roles.
At a recent press meet in Hyderabad, Hebah reflected on her journey, saying, “Director Sampath Nandi believed in me when I was at my lowest. Odela Railway Station was a turning point. At first, I was hesitant about playing Radha, but his confidence in me made all the difference. More than Kumari 21F, I feel this film truly shaped me as an actor.”
Now, with Odela 2 set for release on April 17, expectations are running high. This time, Tamannaah Bhatia joins the cast alongside Hebah and Vasishta N. Simha. Once again directed by Ashok Teja under Sampath Nandi’s supervision, the sequel promises an intense thriller with supernatural elements. As Hebah gears up for yet another gripping performance, all eyes are on Odela 2 to cement her resurgence in the industry.
