According to a prominent producer, Mohanlal’s recent films have not only become critical successes but have also performed exceptionally well commercially, collectively grossing over ₹350 crore. Both films continue to run successfully in theatres, solidifying his box office dominance. The producer stated that Mohanlal has recognized his growing market value, and is accordingly revising his pay scale.

It is being reported that for his upcoming project, Mohanlal is demanding ₹20 crore, including the Gulf overseas rights as part of the deal. Given his current success streak, industry insiders believe the hike is justified. His recent films have secured spots among the top 5 highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time.

Interestingly, unlike many other top stars in Indian cinema, Mohanlal has traditionally kept his remuneration modest. For mid-range films like ‘Drishyam’, he typically charged between ₹5 to ₹6 crore, while for big-budget projects like ‘Empuraan’, his fee reportedly reached ₹15 crore.

If the news of his new ₹20 crore remuneration turns out to be true, Mohanlal could soon become the highest-paid actor in the Malayalam film industry.
