First look of Allu Arjun from Pushpa has been receiving thumping response from all corners. Fans are elated to see tremendous transformation of Allu Arjun from Bantu (AVPL) to Pushpa Raj in Sukumar’s film. Although Allu Arjun seems to have owned this character, he is not the first choice to play Pushpa Raj.
Sukumar created this character keeping Mahesh Babu in mind. They had parted ways due to creative differences and Allu Arjun has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. It would have been a different character for Mahesh Babu for sure.
But why was he skeptical of playing Pushpa Raj? Mahesh doesn’t like to play characters with negative shades. That was the reason why he rejected 24 directed by Vikram Kumar.
Also, Mahesh is not game for drastic makeovers. His USP is his glamour and good looks and he decided not to do de-glam roles after Nijam turned out to be a dud at the box office. Mahesh has reportedly asked for changes in characterization narrated by Sukumar and that is when the differences cropped up.
Mahesh opting out of it has given opportunity for Allu Arjun to experiment with his looks. Wonder how Mahesh would have looked as smuggler Pushpa Raj? That we will never know!
