Heritage foods gives clarity on AP government’s probe

Jagan Mohan Reddy cabinet on Thursday ordered a CBI probe by insinuating inconsistencies in the previous Chandrababu-led TDP government. The issues related to the Fibernet (Optic Fibre Grid) project under IT sector and supply of butter milk from heritage foods were raised by Ap Cabinet sub committee. The committee notified the issues and concluded that there are unfurnished finances showing inconsistencies and unfairness warranting probe by the country’s premier investigation agency.

Minister for information and public relations, Perni Venkatramaiah investigated the case along with the sub committee members and reported to the AP government about the illegalities on buying of buttermilk from Heritage for Chandranna Sankranti Kanuka, Ramzan and Christmas festival.

Heritage Company run by Chandra babu Naidu cleared the air about the products supplied to the Andhra Pradesh Government. It has claimed that Heritage hasn’t supplied the Buttermilk worth Rs 40 crore to the government and gave a statement pertinent to the issue.

The value of buttermilk supplied to the Andhra Pradesh Government from 2015-16 to 2019-20 is Rs. 1.49 crore. Heritage was involved in an online tender conducted by Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Corporation. The total order value of ghee supply from 2014-15 to 2016-17 is Rs 21.19 crore. In the advertisement they stated every process is transparent and have secured distribution opportunities to participate in tenders.

The subcommittee led by Perni Venkatramaiah claimed that AP Fibernet Project showed nepotism by allotting to terra software company headed by Venturi Hari Krishna Prasad, who is not eligible for such project and 700 crore scam worth has been occurred. However, TDP member K Kala Venkata Rao infuriated saying that it’s a wrong motive with political overtones by AP government and condemned it
