Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is steadily turning his vision of making the state a hub for electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and renewable energy production into reality. Determined to attract major investors, he has been creating a highly favorable environment for clean energy and sustainable industrial growth.

In a major boost to this effort, the Hinduja Group has now joined hands with the Andhra Pradesh government through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed today. The agreement involves a massive ₹20,000 crore investment, signaling a new phase of industrial expansion and green energy development in the state.

As part of this MoU, the Hinduja Group will take up four significant projects across Andhra Pradesh. These include the expansion of the existing 1,050 MW HNPCL power plant in Visakhapatnam by an additional 1,600 MW (2×800 MW) to ensure consistent power supply for industries; the development of large-scale solar and wind energy projects in Rayalaseema to enhance the state’s renewable energy capacity; and the establishment of a state-of-the-art electric bus and light-vehicle manufacturing plant in Mallavalli, Krishna district, aimed at promoting sustainable mobility.

In addition, the group will set up EV charging facilities across Andhra Pradesh, strengthening the state’s infrastructure for green transportation.
This landmark partnership between the Hinduja Group and the Government of Andhra Pradesh is expected to drive rapid industrial growth, generate large-scale employment, and place Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of India’s renewable energy and electric mobility revolution.
