Bobby Deol in Race for Fantasy Villain Role in Karan Johar’s Next
Bobby Deol stunned audiences with his performance as Abrar in Animal, playing a deaf and mute character who communicates only through gestures. It was widely regarded as one of the finest roles of his career. Though he later appeared as a villain in Suriya’s Kanguva, the role didn’t bring him the same level of recognition. It seems Bobby has realized that performances like Abrar are rare breakthroughs.
Now, there’s strong buzz in the industry that Karan Johar is offering Bobby another path-breaking role. Reportedly, the character is set in a fantasy world of serpents and shapeshifters (Naagins), where Bobby might play a powerful, unique entity. The film stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead, and Karan was apparently looking for a formidable villain. Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor are both in the race for the role, and one of them is likely to be finalized soon.
The project is described as experimental, with gripping visuals involving serpent deities and shape-shifting snakes. Fans believe Bobby would suit this fantasy villain role more than Anil Kapoor. However, an official confirmation from Karan Johar is still awaited, and casting details are expected to be announced soon.
This ambitious fantasy comedy will reportedly be directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Dharma Productions is planning to develop this unique script, with Kartik Aaryan also set to star in other Dharma-backed films like Tu Meri, Main Tera and Main Tera, Tu Meri. His back-to-back association with Dharma Productions has come as a surprise to many in the industry.
