HIT 3 Faces Copyright Dispute

Even as Natural Star Nani gears up for his next big project, The Paradise, his recent blockbuster, HIT 3: The Third Case, has landed in a legal storm. The film, directed by Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Prashanthi Tipirneni under Nani’s Unanimous Productions, released on May 1 and emerged as a massive success despite some criticism over its intense violence.

However, the spotlight has now shifted from its box office glory to a copyright dispute. Writer Vimal Soni has approached the Madras High Court, alleging that HIT 3 was lifted from her earlier works, Agent 11 and Agent V. Though she identifies herself as a fan of Nani, she insists that the story was taken from her original ideas and has submitted her drafts to the court as evidence.

This is not the first time director Sailesh Kolanu has been caught in such a controversy. Similar claims emerged during the release of Saindhav, the action film starring Venkatesh. Now, with the court proceedings underway, the team behind HIT 3 must defend their work even as the film continues to dominate the box office.
