The strong coalition between Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena, and BJP has been a key factor behind Andhra Pradesh’s notable progress on both developmental and welfare fronts over the past 16 months. Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has repeatedly emphasized the importance of keeping the alliance intact for the next 15 years, setting aside minor differences for the betterment of the state and its people.
While leaders and supporters of all three parties continue to work in harmony despite occasional misunderstandings, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) appears to be attempting to create friction among the alliance partners to pave the way for a political comeback. Some media outlets affiliated with YSRCP have also reportedly played a role in this strategy, often raising questions designed to test the stability of the NDA coalition.
A recent instance occurred during a press meet with Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha. After addressing the controversy surrounding the murder of Lakshmi Naidu in Nellore district, a journalist questioned her about Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s directions to the DGP to submit a report regarding the conduct of Bhimavaram DSP Jayasurya. The question appeared aimed at provoking a controversial reaction about Pawan Kalyan’s involvement in matters related to the Home Ministry.
However, Anitha responded firmly, stating that there was nothing inappropriate about Pawan Kalyan seeking a report in his capacity as Deputy CM. She denied allegations that he frequently interferes in Home Ministry matters and clarified that the issue highlighted by him had already been brought to her department’s attention, with a report being prepared. She also questioned the journalist’s intent, noting that there is no ego clash between the Home Minister and Pawan Kalyan.
Earlier reports had indicated that Pawan Kalyan expressed displeasure over Bhimavaram DSP Jayasurya’s conduct, following complaints of inaction against illegal gambling clubs in the district. Pawan Kalyan reportedly spoke to the Bhimavaram SP and directed an examination of the complaints, instructing a factual report on the findings.
Anitha’s strong and clear response not only reaffirmed the integrity and stability of the NDA coalition in Andhra Pradesh but also highlighted the active role of Pawan Kalyan in governance and accountability.
