With comeback of megastar looking imminent, its time to debate how much once highest paid Telugu star, would demand as his remuneration in 2014 and later on. The Tagore star’s last drawn salary was reportedly 8.5 crore for his last film “Shankar Dada Zindabad”, in 2007, before he stepped into politics. In those days, he had no competition since Balakrishna, Venkatesh and Nag, were no match to his stardom, while new-age stars Pawan, Mahesh and NTR were finding their ground. But now the scenario is totally different, since his brother Pawan is undisputed t-wood king, closely followed by Dhookudu star and both are charging above Rs. 15 crore each per film.
So, should Chiru charge on par with Pawan or Mahesh or could quote 17 to 18 crores, to show that he is still has the magic to woo viewers. Also overrule the arguments, that his political stint had dented his charisma. Even though, top producers like Aswini Dutt, KRR, K S Rama Rao and Allu Arvine would be willing to pay his price and making rounds to re-launch the megastar after a 7 year break, or Chiru will prefer to do a film for his son and star Ram charan and want amount Jagadeka veerudu should draw in the 60-crore budget movie. Maybe his fans feels that he is still ‘badshah’ of T-town, unmdindful of his political debacle, while his detractors, have their own doubts, about his dented charisma. Lets see, how Chiru would tackle his comeback and silence his critics, by drawing highest pay cheque or not?
