The United States President Donald Trump will be attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event scheduled on September 22nd in Houston.
Modi will be on US tour from this weekend and as part of his tour, Indian diaspora has organized an event called ‘Howdy Modi.’ So far about 50,000 Indians and Americans have registered to attend this event and even the likes of first American-Hindu Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi.
India’s Ambassador to the US Harsh Vardhan Shringla has confirmed about President Trump’s presence and Modi is delighted to have his US counterpart. Taking to his Twitter Modi, wrote, “The special gesture of President @realDonaldTrump to join us in Houston highlights the strength of the relationship and recognition of the contribution of the Indian community to American society and economy.”
However, this should reckoned as a political gimmick by Trump who is seeking a second term as President. In order to gather the support of the Indian community, Trump has decided to grace the event.
Howdy Modi is to be held at the NRG Stadium of the Houston Texans football team.
