Last week Kollywood has the release of Gautham Karthik’s yet another film Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu (IAMK). The film happens to be horror comedy but laced with sex all over and it is now creating a huge fuss in Tamilnadu state.
Transgender activists and LGBT communities are now requesting Tamil government to ban the film as they feel that some of the dialogues in the movie degraded them. They are upset with the film’s character saying that being gay is not an act of losing virginity in one scene and another man saying that homosexuals are the most sex-starved human beings.
Adding more salt to the ban calls, now few political leaders also started raising their voice that the film should be banned as it is portraying LGBT community in a bad light. Many are scolding why a big hero like Gautham Karthik, who happens to be the son of a superstar (Karthik) and launched by a legendary director (Maniratnam) is making such cheap mockery on gays and lesbians.
Though director Santosh P Jayakumar confirmed that their film is only to create some fun and entertain the audiences, for now, few agitators are not in a mood to listen to the makers.
