Hydra Drive Strikes Again: Illegal Building Demolished Amid Ayyappa Society Backlash

The Hydra drive in Telangana is gaining significant momentum once again, after a brief lull. On Saturday, Hyderabad Commissioner Ranganath paid a visit to the Ayyappa Society in Madhapur, where his attention was drawn to an illegal five-story building under construction. This structure had been the subject of multiple complaints. Despite initial efforts to halt its construction, which were hindered by the involvement of a key member from the Ayyappa Society, the building continued to rise.

However, with increasing pressure, decisive action was finally taken. After inspecting the site, Commissioner Ranganath ordered the immediate demolition of the illegal building. Bulldozers were deployed the following morning, Sunday, to begin tearing down the five-story structure, which had been illegally constructed on a 100-foot road within the society.

Illegal constructions have long been a problem in the Ayyappa Society. Even during the previous BRS government, several demolitions had been carried out. A few months ago, authorities issued notices regarding illegal buildings in the area, with multiple complaints flooding in. On his visit to the site, Commissioner Ranganath confirmed the unlawful nature of the construction, leading to the prompt demolition order.

The demolition has sparked considerable discussion, particularly due to the building’s proximity to a main road. To ensure safety during the operation, power supply in the surrounding area was temporarily suspended while bulldozers began their work.
