ICE Crackdown on Indian Students Working Illegally in U.S. Restaurants

As the Donald Trump administration tightens its crackdown on illegal immigration, foreign students working without authorization in restaurants across the U.S. are facing increased scrutiny. Whistleblowers have become more active, directly reporting cases to authorities.

Many individuals are tagging the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department on social media platforms, sharing details about foreign students allegedly working in Indian restaurants without proper work authorization.

A whistleblower with the handle @kumarexclusive recently flagged this issue by tagging ICE and stating:

“Please visit MacArthur Blvd, Irving, Texas, where Indian MS students are reportedly working full-time in Indian restaurants. Many of these establishments are openly hiring students in violation of ICE regulations. Despite previous ICE raids, such employment practices continue. It is estimated that around 100-150 restaurants on MacArthur Blvd, Irving, Texas, are engaging in this hiring practice.”

Following this, another social media user endorsed the claims and suggested that ICE conduct a large-scale enforcement operation to identify and address unauthorized employment in one sweep.

This wave of whistleblowing is raising concerns among Indian students in the U.S. who depend on part-time jobs to support their living expenses. At the same time, Indian restaurant owners, who often hire students as a cost-effective labor source, are facing growing challenges in workforce management due to the heightened enforcement efforts.
