Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister, Paneer Selvam, recently spoke to the media and expressed his views on Sasikala re-entering politics. Recently, Sasikala announced her retirement from politics and said that she was never after power, not even when Jayalalithaa was alive, and that she wouldn’t want power now, especially after Jaya’s death.
Paneer said that the AIADMK will definitely think about it if Sasikala wants to come back to politics. However, he said that re-entering politics is a decision that Sasikala has to take for herself. He said that neither he nor anyone from AIADMK have anything against Sasikala, and said that he personally respects Sasikala and TVV Dinakaran. Paneer Selvam also said that the AIADMK is not a party that is dependant on any person or any family.
Furthermore, Paneer Selvam clarified that there’s no bad blood between him and Chief Minister Palaniswamy, and said that he was one of the people who supported Palaniswamy’s candidature for being the CM after the general elections if AIADMK wins.
The state of Tamil Nadu is gearing up for its general elections, which are scheduled to start on 6th April. There’s a strong fight between parties, and everyone is trying their best to win this time.
