The previous YSR Congress government has been at the center of numerous allegations related to land grabbing and other illegal activities. Several leaders from the party have faced accusations of land encroachments during their tenure. However, a new and highly controversial incident has surfaced, revealing an attempt to illegally occupy land originally meant for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The incident dates back nearly 25 years, when a staunch TDP loyalist from Bapatla registered 9.5 cents of land in Chandrababu Naidu’s name, with the intention of donating it to the Telugu Desam Party for constructing a party office in the Bapatla constituency. Over time, the land’s value has soared and is now worth an estimated ₹1.5 crore.
However, when the landowner recently approached a bank to secure a loan against the property, he was shocked to discover that fraudulent documents had been created, falsely claiming ownership of the land. The police later uncovered that antisocial elements were behind the fabrication of these documents in a bid to illegally grab the land.
Devastated by this discovery, the landowner took the matter to the local TDP MLA, who subsequently involved the police. Following their investigation, authorities arrested a man named Sattar Reddy, allegedly connected to the land-grabbing scheme. The police are continuing their investigation and have extracted additional information from Reddy.
This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, especially since it involved an attempt to illegally occupy land originally set aside for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
