Mohan Babu Finds Spiritual Meaning in Kannappa Trolls
A special screening of Kannappa was held two days ago, exclusively for Shiva devotees and swamijis across the Telugu states. The event, organized by singer and activist Ghazal Srinivas, saw the presence of several spiritual leaders — including aghoris and staunch Shiva bhaktas — who gathered to witness the mythological drama once again. Among the attendees was veteran actor Mohan Babu, who appeared visibly moved by the experience.
Sharing his feelings after watching the film alongside such a spiritually charged audience, Mohan Babu seemed emotional and deeply humbled. Speaking to the media after the screening, he addressed a question about the ongoing online trolling and memes surrounding Kannappa, despite the film receiving largely positive feedback from many quarters.
In response, Mohan Babu offered a unique and philosophical take inspired by a swamiji who attended the event.
He said, “One swamiji shared a profound thought with me. He told me not to worry about the trolling. He said these trolls are actually helping cleanse the sins I may have committed in this life or previous ones — knowingly or unknowingly. He even encouraged me to be thankful to those trolling me.”
The veteran actor expressed that this perspective brought him a new level of peace and understanding. He added that he now views the criticism not as an attack, but as a part of a larger spiritual process — a divine form of karmic purification.
Mohan Babu’s dignified and composed response has been appreciated by many, highlighting his spiritual evolution and unshakeable faith in the journey of Kannappa.
