Indian-Origin Man Dubbed ‘Burger King Bandit’ in Florida Cash Theft Case

An Indian-origin man, Kris Kumar, who previously worked at a Burger King outlet in Florida, has been dubbed the “Burger King Bandit” after authorities alleged his involvement in the disappearance of cash from the restaurant’s safe.

According to reports, Kumar was serving as a manager at the outlet but was later terminated after missing several shifts. He reportedly had access to both the safe key and the security code during his tenure.
Following his termination, $3,500 reportedly went missing from the restaurant’s safe, making Kumar a prime suspect. Investigators noted that the incident occurred around the time he lost his job, raising further suspicion. The new manager informed police that someone had entered the office and accessed the safe using the correct code, which was
believed to be known only to Kumar and a few others.

Authorities also found that Kumar had visited a Home Depot prior to his dismissal to make a duplicate key for the restaurant. Although he returned his official key and uniform after being fired, the duplicate key allegedly allowed him to re-enter the premises. Since the safe code remained unchanged, investigators believe he was able to access the cash without difficulty.

The alleged theft is said to have taken place in mid-November 2025. Earlier this month, a judge issued an arrest warrant for Kumar, while Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey publicly referred to him as the “Burger King Bandit.”
