Indian Sprinter Dutee Chand is all set to represent India at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in the category of 100m and 200m as she had made it to the qualifications.Her qualification was confirmed today on the grounds of World Rankings Quota.
A lot of questions were raised on her qualification to Olympics as she couldn’t make it to the spot in the prestigious tournament directly after being restricted to the fourth place in the 100m race at the Nationals.Thanks to the World Rankings Quota, she picked a spot in both categories as she stood at 44th and 51st position in 100m and 200m categories respectively in world rankings.
Her rankings enable her to be eligible to join the Indian squad who will represent the country at the Tokyo Olympics at various games.The tournament will begin next month.The other day, she was nominated for the Rajeev Gandhi Khel Ratna, highest sporting honour by the sports department of Odisha.
