Telangana BJP is worried by the show of defiance by some party leaders. The party is said to be taking a serious view of the indiscipline by a section of the leaders. Even before the ruckus created by the Lingojiguda bypoll died down, the party is grappling with another crisis.
Senior leader Motkupalli Narsimhulu, who had recently joined the BJP, has dropped a bomb shell when he defied the party line and lambasted Etela Rajender. The BJP is sympathetic towards Etela, who has been unceremoniously ousted from the KCR ministry over land grab allegations. The party has found fault with KCR’s hasty probe which does not stand the legal test.
However, Motkupally has found fault with Etela’s actions and said that he should be beholden to KCR for making him a minister. He called Etela a traitor and said that Etela should actually be faithful to KCR. These statements have ruffled quite a few feathers in the BJP. His comments were not in line with the party line. Sources in the BjP say that the national party leadership has taken a serious view of such actions and comments.
Meanwhile, the party leadership has sent a detailed report about both Lingojiguda incident and Motkupalli’s statements. The national leadership is said to have issued a set of guidelines for the party leaders and has asked them to adhere to these guidelines while speaking. Meanwhile, some leaders are also trying to reach out to Motkupalli to tutor him on the party line.
