From the last couple of days, you might have various popular celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditi Rao Hydari, Arjun Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Alia Bhatt and the one-n-only Aamir Khan posing with a sanitary pad and sharing that picture on their respective Twitter pages.
“It’s not about a photo. Its all about breaking the taboo & initiating the conversation Period!” says Arunachalam Murugantham who initiated the #PadmanChallenge on social media challenging celebrities to pose with a sanitary pad and share that picture with all, before challenging others to do the same.
It is known that director R Balki’s upcoming flick “PadMan” deals with the story of Mr Muruganatham and his invention of low-cost sanitary napkin making machine. He was portrayed by Akshay Kumar on the silver screen. As the film’s release date is inching closer, he wanted to bring awareness about ‘periods’ and eradicate that awkwardness we have regarding girls using sanitary pads.
With biggest of big stars like Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone and others readily accepting this challenge is a big eye-opener. Even RPG Group Chairman (Ceat tyres) Harsh Goenka also accepted the challenge and posed with a sanitary pad. Will any Telugu celebrity take part in this challenge? Let see.
