The Flipkart Summer Sale begins on May 9, and buyers are advised to prepare their carts in advance to grab the best deals before popular products go out of stock. Among the most in-demand purchases during the sale season are iPhones, and this year both the latest iPhone 17 series and the iPhone 16 are expected to see attractive discounts.
During the Flipkart sale, the iPhone 17 (256GB variant) is expected to be available at Rs 71,999, down from its original price of Rs 82,900, offering a discount of over Rs 10,000. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 is likely to be priced at Rs 58,900, reduced from Rs 69,900, giving buyers a discount of around Rs 11,000. In addition, Flipkart may offer extra benefits such as bank discounts, cashback offers, and no-cost EMI options, making the deals even more appealing.
In terms of design, both the iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 feature a similar aluminium and glass build with a dual-camera setup. However, the iPhone 17 comes with a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 sports a 6.1-inch screen.
The iPhone 17 features a 120Hz ProMotion display with up to 3000 nits peak brightness, similar to Apple’s Pro models. In comparison, the iPhone 16 offers a 60Hz Liquid Retina display with up to 2000 nits peak brightness.
Performance-wise, the iPhone 17 is powered by the new A19 chip, while the iPhone 16 runs on the A18 chip, making the newer model more powerful and efficient.
In terms of cameras, the iPhone 17 includes a 48MP main sensor along with a 48MP ultra-wide lens. The iPhone 16 also features a 48MP main camera but is paired with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. The front camera on the iPhone 17 is upgraded to an 18MP Centre Stage camera, while the iPhone 16 comes with a 12MP TrueDepth selfie camera.
Battery life also sees an improvement, with the iPhone 17 offering up to 30 hours of video playback, compared to around 12 hours on the iPhone 16, making it a significantly better option for heavy users.
