Where are all those ministers and leaders, who flaunted their proximity to KTR and reigned supreme in the TRS all these days? If one watches closes, one finds that the leaders, who were closer to KCR are resurfacing again while the young guns who were closer to KTR are slowly becoming passive in the TRS.
Sources say this has got to do with the fortunes of KTR. When he was touted as the next chief minister, young leaders and ministers began calling shots. The seniors sank into despair. But once KCR asserted himself and said that there would be no change of guard in the TRS, the senior leaders are bouncing back. Even in case of the graduate MLC elections, KTR who had initially said that he would take control of the campaign, is now confined to home. He isn’t doing much. The command control is fully in the hands of KCR.
This is now reflecting at the ground level. In Khammam, which is witnessing MLC polls, is seeing a battle of one-upmanship between senior Tummala and junior Ajay Puvvada. In Nizamabad too, it is KTR acolyte MLA Prashant Reddy versus senior KR Suresh Reddy in Balconda. It is Vittal Rao versus Jeevan Reddy in Nandipet, Prashant Reddy versus Pocharam Srinivas Reddy in Banswada and Nizamabad. Its Jupally versus Harshavardhan Reddy in Kollapur of undivided Mahabubnagar while its minister Srinivas Reddy versus others in Mahabubnagar. Due to this tussle, the membership drive of the party has suffered severely. The party was forced to extend the deadline for the membership drive.
