Creative and intelligent filmmaker Sukumar has unique taste whether it is his films or his choice of actors. He introduced two heroines in his first two movies ‘Arya’ and ‘Jagadam’. He launched Kriti Sanon’s career through ‘One Nenokkadine’. He dared to showcase popular actresses like Samantha and Rashmika in a rustic and de-glamorous avatar for movies like ‘Rangasthalam’ and ‘Pushpa’.
We all know how Samantha impressed everyone as Ramalakshmi in the blockbuster movie ‘Rangasthalam’. She portrayed the village girl’s character to perfection and brought in a lot of life and energy into the movie. But recently, Sukumar revealed that Samantha is not the first choice for Ramalakshmi’s character. He said that Anupama Parameswaran was their initial choice and they even called her for an audition.
He added that Anupama got tensed a lot during the audition and looked at her mother constantly. Looking at her Sukumar got tensed and he replaced her with Samantha later. Now, Anupama worked under Sukumar’s production banner. She is the heroine in the upcoming movie ’18 Pages’ which is bankrolled under Sukumar Writings and Geetha Arts banners. Nikhil is the hero in this project and it is getting released on 23rd December.
Sukumar revealed all these interesting facts during the pre-release event and fans of Anupama are saying that she missed a golden chance then. If she was the heroine in ‘Rangasthalam’, Anupama’s career would have escalated way quicker. Isn’t it?
