Manchu Manoj, son of veteran actor Mohan Babu, entered the film industry as a child artist and impressed audiences with his early performances. Later, he transitioned into lead roles and acted in several films. However, most of them did not achieve the expected success. Adding to his professional struggles, Manoj also faced personal and family issues, which kept him away from films for almost nine years. He recently made his comeback with Bhairavam. Though the film received an average response, Manoj’s negative-shaded role turned out to be the highlight.

Now, Manoj is once again set to captivate audiences in a villainous avatar. He plays the antagonist in the upcoming epic action fantasy film Mirai, directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, with Teja Sajja in the lead. Produced by People Media Factory, the film is slated for a grand worldwide release on September 12. The recently released trailer has raised expectations further, with fans especially praising Manoj’s menacing look and powerful screen presence. Many netizens even commented that villainy runs in his blood, much like his father Mohan Babu, who excelled as a hero, villain, and comedian throughout his career.

Manoj’s expressions, body language, and styling in the villain role have impressed viewers, with many fans suggesting that he might be better suited for such roles than as a conventional hero. If Mirai becomes a hit, it could elevate Manoj’s craze to the pan-India level.

Tracing back his journey, Manoj first appeared as a child actor in Major Chandrakanth. He later debuted as a hero in 2004 with Donga Dongadi and even won the Nandi Special Jury Award for Bindaas. He has acted in notable films like Raju Bhai, Prayanam, Vedam, Nenu Meeku Telusa?, Jhummandi Naadam, and Mr. Nookayya. Currently, he is also working as the lead in What the Fish.
