A crucial meeting was held on August 11, 2025, between leading Telugu film producers and Andhra Pradesh Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh to address ongoing challenges in the industry and discuss measures to support small-budget films. The meeting, which began at noon, focused on creating a sustainable ecosystem for the future of Telugu cinema.

“We had a cordial meeting with Minister Kandula Durgesh and discussed a few important issues,” said Bharat Bushan, president of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and part of the 12-member delegation. “We sought subsidies for small films and explored plans for industry development. Above all, we requested appointments with the Deputy Chief Minister and Chief Minister at their convenience.”

The meeting was attended by prominent producers including Ravi Shankar, BVSN Prasad, DVV Danayya, KL Narayana, among others. Another key meeting has been scheduled for September 2, which will include major stars and top industry representatives. “Big stars will join us, along with other important members, when we meet Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. We aim to discuss everything in detail,” added Bushan.

Discussions also covered the development of the film industry in Andhra Pradesh, including the construction of new studios and the revival of the Nandi Awards. Minister Durgesh confirmed that the Nandi Awards will be held this year, with two to three proposals under review. Sources clarified there will be no change to the award’s name.

When asked about the ongoing Film Federation strike, Bushan stated, “We didn’t raise that issue as it is an internal matter, and the chamber will handle it separately.”
