Jagan Backs Modi’s Call For Candle Lights

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had extended support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for candle light across the nation on April 5.

He made an appeal to the people of the State to join the nation in switching off lights and lighting candles in support of the fight against the corona virus.

The chief minister addressed the people through television and welcomed the Prime Minister’s call to lit the candles keeping aside the differences. He said that the candle lights symbolise the war against the darkness of corona.

He also made an appeal to the people to support each other and have special love and care for the positive cases.

“Corona might have attacked our people. But we cannot keep them aside or discard them. Show love and care for them. Help them medically and mentally to overcome,” the chief minister said.

The chief minister also appealed to the people not to blame any religion for the spread of the virus across the state.

He said that people with the positive signs are to be treated as infected to the virus and not to discriminate them in the name of religion.

The chief minister gave some relief to the frontline employees in health, police and sanitation departments for their services.

The government would pay full salaries to these employees on humanitarian grounds, he said.
