Nearly three months after the appointment of his uncle Y V Subba Reddy as the chairman for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy finally constituted the TTD trust board on Tuesday.
As per the latest ordinance, the number of members in the trust board has been increased from 15 to 25, besides three ex-officio members. On Tuesday, Jagan approved the file appointing the 28-member board.
The newly-constituted board comprises eight members from Andhra Pradesh, seven from Telangana, four each from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and one each from Delhi and Maharashtra, besides the three ex-officio members.
The following are the new members of the TTD trust board:
Andhra Pradesh: V Prashanti, U V Ramanamurty Raju (Kanna Babu Raju), D P Ananta, Chippagiri Prasad, Meda Mallikarjun Reddy, Golla Babu Rao, Nadendla Subba Rao and Parthasarathy.
Telangana: Jupalli Rameshwar Rao, D Damodar Rao, Putta Pratap Reddy, B Parthasarathy Reddy, V Bhaskara Rama Rao, Muramshetty Ramulu, K Shiva Kumar
Tamil Nadu: Krishnamurthy Vaidyanathan, N Srinivasan, Nichita Muthavarapu, Kumara Guru
Karnataka: Ramesh Shetty, Sampath, Ravi Narayan, Sudha Narayanamurthy
Delhi: Sivasankaran and Maharashtra: Rajesh Sharma
The appointment of N Srinivasan of India Cements, who had his shares in Jagan’s companies in the past had been on cards for quite some. So is the case with industrialist and My Home Group chairman Jupalli Rameshwar Rao from Telangana, who was obviously recommended by Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Interestingly, another close follower of KCR, Divakonda Damodar Rao, managing director of Namasthe Telangana Telugu daily and Telangana Today English daily, also figures in the list of TTD members.
Previous TTD members D P Ananta and Sudha Narayanamurthy also got renominated to the TTD.
