Jagan Predicts TDP’s Collapse in Next Election

Share

It’s been just 11 months since YS Jagan Mohan Reddy transitioned from serving as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to holding the role of MLA from Pulivendula, following his party’s dramatic decline to just 11 seats in the recent state elections. Yet, the YSRCP chief appears undeterred and is already forecasting a steep downfall for current Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

While addressing his party cadre in Tadepalli today, Jagan expressed strong views about Chandrababu Naidu’s political future. He asserted that Naidu has already lost the trust of the people and predicted a severe backlash in the next election, whenever it may be held.

“Whenever the election comes, Chandrababu will face the public’s anger. They will strike so hard that he’ll find himself on the other side of power — in the opposition,” Jagan said, indicating a complete reversal of fortunes for the TDP chief.

Taking it a step further, Jagan boldly claimed that TDP may fare so poorly next time that the party could lose deposits in multiple constituencies.

However, these remarks have drawn criticism on social media. A TDP supporter pointed out the irony of Jagan making such statements so soon after his own party’s humiliating defeat. The user opined that Jagan seems to be out of touch with the public sentiment and has not yet come to terms with the clear mandate given in the last election.

As political temperatures rise in Andhra Pradesh, Jagan’s sharp rhetoric and TDP’s counter-narratives are setting the stage for a charged political environment ahead of the next electoral battle.
